About Ilga

Although I am currently working in the area of web design and development, I was not always so enlightened. I started my career and education in chemical engineering, incorporated some programming, added some project management, and, for the grand finale, became a GE Six Sigma Black Belt.

At which point I got laid off and started taking classes in digital media at the local community college and creating web sites for friends. I will run out of friends soon, so I will need to do a good enough job so that casual acquaintances and strangers will hire me.

For fun and as another career, I play beach volleyball. After the grand finale (playing against Gold Medalists Misty May and Kerri Walsh in Huntington Beach), and two knee surgeries, I am also retiring from that career, or could you call it being laid off? Although I still have fun with it and play as often as my family, work and body allow.

But I am not going to retire or get laid off any time soon from my third career—playing with and caring for my 3-year-old daughter.
